Draft weekend

Our big draft weekend kicks off Friday, Aug. 7, at Jeremy's. We can hit the pool, drink some drinks, declare our keepers, play some poker, etc. We might even want to get a side bet league going.

On Saturday, Aug. 8, some have suggested bowling or something else this year instead of gold to beat the heat a bit. After whatever we do, it will be off to Lee's for the 2009 GFL Draft. Remember it is a serpentine draft and here is our draft order:

9. Lee

11. Sean Chaffin

12. Joey (horseshoe pick)

It should be a lot fun. And remember, don't be the guy who takes these guys: Steve McNair (dead), Derrick Mason (retired).

Who will be the guy who takes a chance on these guys: Brett Favre (washed up) and Vince Young (just terrible).

Championship trophy

Finally got the trophy from Yahoo six months after the season was over. It is the bobble head in the photo. Behind is the previous version. The previous version I liked better.

Also, finally got around to ordering our trophy for the league this week. It should be in in time for the draft – perfect to drink beer from. To the victor go the spoils. I have players to trade if anyone is interested. Houshmanzadeh should have a nice season in Seattle and can be had for a nice price.
